KWOC | Kharagpur Winter of Code Final Evaluation Report 2020 .

About KWOC:

KWOC (Kharagpur Winter Of Code) is an annual open source program conducted by KOSS(Kharagpur Open Source Society), IIT Kharagpur. It was a month long program in which we can take up projects of our choice from hundreds of projects and work under a mentor. It provides a platform for preparing students like us for big stages like GSOC.

I worked on project named NATURE BEAUTY.

I worked under Suraj Bokde.

About Project:

Nature beauty ( Web App ) is about Environment and Nature, it makes people aware. People will write Blogs and are able to Donate For Nature by logging in to website.

Contribution 1:

Pull Request 1: Change to donation page .

This was my first pull request and I had worked on the donation page of the website, I had added the background image over here along with working on the cards and its hover effect, and also made the form in this page. I also designed this page with CSS.

Contribution 2:

Pull request 2: Change of Blog Page.

This was second pull request and I had worked in removing the extra spaces in the page like the footer, and also the spaces in the initial image of the page, and also the blog cards extra spacing was removed along with aligning the buttons of cards in a single line.

Pull Request 3: Adding name to form in donation page

Here I was assigned to work on form in this page which was made by me and was asked in adding name to form.

Pull Request 4: Modify key features in home page

This was my fourth pull request and I had to add Key features in different cards in the home page on different topics working on the content too of those cards.

Conclusion:

I worked on this project and helped in closing the issues and in creating a better view to the page using my knowledge in HTML, CSS, Javascript. I made contributions in the project as mentioned above and also ended as the 4th contributor of the above project. It was a nice experience working in the above project in KWOC(Kharagpur Winter of Codes).

My Thoughts:

I loved working under mentor Suraj Bokde. It was easy and nice to approach him and also helped me in all problems. It was a nice experience as I got some idea about this kind of Open Projects. I also got idea about what all things I need to learn new in languages so looking forward to use those. I used this opportunity to explore more on the languages like HTML, CSS, Javascript which I know.
